The Office of Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation's mission is to make healthy lives possible. Our vision is to make a healthy, safe, and thriving community. Our team is currently made up of five different focuses to help lower the tobacco rates and reduce teen pregnancy in Maricopa County. The teams include Youth Tobacco Team, Justice- Involved population and System’s change, Adult Tobacco and Nicotine Quit Programs and Teen Pregnancy Prevention.
We work with organizations to help adults in their community to quit using tobacco and nicotine. Based on an organization needs we can provide programs such as.

Reduce Reduce tobacco and vape use by utilizing evidence based tobacco cessation programming with justice involved facilities, detention centers, foster care, and probation. These programs build awareness of the harmful effects of tobacco use and support tobacco cessation efforts.
Provide local businesses and organizations tobacco free policy change support to implement in their site. The program's goal is to build a tobacco-free framework to prevent staff and community members from experiencing tobacco-related illnesses. Dimensions Peer Quit Class, Basic Tobacco and Intervention Skills Certification.
Tobacco-Free Program is an evidence-based tobacco cessation program designed to teach providers and peers the information and skills to promote successful tobacco cessation within their organizations.
STAND is Arizona’s anti-tobacco youth coalition effort, raises awareness about the dangers of tobacco use among their friends, in their schools, communities and with their local governments. We have coalitions located in Maryvale, Trevor G Browne, and Ironwood Highschool.
Through the Empowered Youth Leaders program, youth will have opportunities to participate in challenging and interesting learning experiences, engage in leadership opportunities, and build on social skills, all while improving the health of their own community. Youth, ages 14-17, will be working in their own communities to develop and implement a health improvement project focusing on tobacco use prevention and creating healthier communities.
N.O.T- The N-O-T Not On Tobacco® is a quit vaping and tobacco use program for teens ages 14-19. It helps you develop a plan that guides you on your quit journey. You’ll also get the support you need to remain vape-free and tobacco-free for life! INDEPTH Intervention for Nicotine Dependence: Education, Prevention, Tobacco and Health (INDEPTH). Rather than suspension or citation for tobacco or e-cigarette use, INDEPTH addresses the teen vaping epidemic in a more supportive way.
